This month marks my second anniversary with Broadcast MAP in the role of Application Support Manager for Australia.
I joined BCM after software management roles at Starcom, Dentsu Aegis and Mediacom, where I worked with both local and international teams. Prior to that I was managing major accounts at Zenith and Mindshare, where I built up some good media trading experience. Having both media trading and software management skills was an ideal background to bring to my current role supporting TVmap’s Australian customers.
I really enjoy the problem solving aspect of my job - and it’s especially rewarding in the face to face interactions that I have with my clients. You get these moments when you’re doing a training session, and suddenly all the pieces of the puzzle fit together. I love being there and seeing their faces when they have one of those “Ah-ha” moments and discover how to reduce a task from 3 hours down to 5 minutes. It’s brilliant.
As well as one on one training, my role covers all the day to day user support for TVmap, and working with our technical team sorting out upgrades, that sort of thing. I also do group training, and I can run you through everything from a basic introduction to TVmap to how to customise your spreadsheets to create proprietary tools.
Because of my experience in media agencies, I understand the challenges you’re facing and the functional needs that you have, so I can work with you to interpret this into a software solution, and share that solution with users in training sessions. I also have a lot of other useful “techie” skills and a good understanding of hardware, software and systems integration, all of which can be put to good use to support my customers to get the most of of their TVmap software.
It’s a good thing I love travelling, as I’m often on the road visiting our interstate clients to provide training. I make it to Melbourne and Brisbane several times a year, and our friends in Adelaide and Perth (and Sydney too!) are also well looked after. My passport gets a good workout when you throw in the trips to Auckland to catch up with the rest of the Broadcast MAP team.
